Human Behavior: A Cell to Society Approach represents a general synthesis that incorporates principles and findings from molecular biology, neuroscience, psychological, and sociocultural sciences in a coherent fashion. Each chapter representing a major domain of the person-in-environment nexus will identify specific variables and demonstrate the principle under which these facets of human life interact with one another. Human Behavior: A Cell to Society Approach will make use of numerous figures and graphs to augment text description. Questions will be raised following each chapter that can be used in or out of class to reinforce important concepts covered. This will be intended to facilitate critical thought around the big picture of science and knowledge with respect to person-in-environment interactions. In addition case studies, spotlight topics, and an experts corner will augment the theme of each chapter.  The cell to society framework demonstrates how multiple units of analysis and disciplinary perspectives from molecular genetics to neuropsychological functioning to psychological traits and conditions to behavior within the modifying effects of the environment are needed to understand human behavior. The cell to society approach incorporates research from the natural and biological sciences and the social sciences to produce the most comprehensive and scientifically accurate account of empirical phenomena.
