The 27th edition of Pharmacology and Pharmacothera­peutics, mainly for the undergraduate medical students of 2nd and 3rd phase, is an integrated approach to present an updated knowledge of the pathophysiology of the dis­eases, pharmacology of available drugs and strategies for disease management. This will help in developing a strong scientific knowledge base and promoting rational thinking, both are required to become competent IMGs.

This edition has undergone extensive revision with updating of the drug information. Care has been taken to give equal weightage to therapeutics. There are ad­ditional coloured figures, boxes and tables to engage the students with the text and facilitate easy grasping. All the positive features of earlier edition have been retained. In this edition, case based MCQs on each sec­tion have been added to challenge the readers to think critically and self-assess their learning. Attention has been paid to keep the text simple and student friendly.
