Daniel Graham "Mac" MacCormick returned from Afghanistan with a Silver Star, two Purple Hearts, and scars that don't tan well in the Florida sunshine. Mac needs a job and a life, so he impulsively buys an expensive fishing boat with a big bank loan and runs charters out of Key West. Business is not good, and Mac's finances are more than a little shaky. That is until he meets Carlos, a hotshot Miami lawyer known for his involvement with anti-Castro groups. Carlos wants to charter Mac's boat for a fishing tournament in Cuba on behalf of his client, the beautiful Sara Ortega. Mac suspects there is more to this trip than fishing, so he refuses the offer. Then Mac meets Sara, who tells him the real reason for this trip: to recover sixty million American dollars hidden in Cuba by Sara's grandfather when he fled Castro's revolution. Mac's cut-four million dollars. And it's only a matter of time before someone else finds the money-by accident, or on purpose.
